SCHEDULE

The City Council normally meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month in the City Council Chambers located at the Pittsburg Civic Center at 65 Civic Avenue.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION The City Council encourages your participation at City Council meetings. Opportunities for the public to address the City Council are provided under the Public Comments, Consent Calendar and Public Hearing portions of the agenda. However, state law prohibits the City Council from taking action on any item not listed on the agenda, unless special determinations are made relating to the urgency and timing of the item. This item must be approved by a four-fifths vote of the City Council. If you wish to address the City Council please complete a speaker card and the Mayor will call upon you. Depending upon the number of speakers, the Mayor may determine that a speaking time limit is necessary.

NOTICE TO THE DISABLED AND HEARING IMPAIRED

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Pittsburg will provide special assistance for disabled citizens. The Council Chamber is equipped with sound amplifier units for use by the hearing impaired. The units operate in conjunction with the Chamber's sound system. You may request the sound amplifier from the City Clerk for personal use during Council meetings. If you need special assistance to participate in this meeting, please contact the City Clerk at 252-4850. Notification 48 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to this meeting. (28 CFR 35.102-35.104 ADA Title II)

CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

SUBMITTING MATERIAL OR DOCUMENTS

Any supporting materials you wish to present should be given to the City Clerk before addressing the Council. Any material submitted during a public hearing will become part of the public record and cannot be returned.

You may submit material to the City Clerk's office until the Tuesday before the Monday City Council meeting. This allows for distribution of the material in advance. This gives the Council Members time to review the information before it is presented. If you have any questions regarding this procedure, call the City Clerk's Office at 252-4850.

WORK SESSIONS provide an opportunity for the City staff to report to the City Council on a variety of items and issues. Work sessions are open to the public, check with the City Clerk's Office for times and locations.

CLOSED SESSIONS are held for specific purposes, as stated by State law, such as litigation or personnel matters. Closed sessions are not open to the public.

ADJOURNED AND SPECIAL MEETINGS are held when needed; notices are posted at Civic Center, 65 Civic Avenue.

SUCCESSOR AGENCY TO THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF PITTSBURG, HOUSING AUTHORITY, PUBLIC FINANCING AUTHORITY, PITTSBURG INFRASTRUCTURE AUTHORITY, PITTSBURG POWER AUTHORITY LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCY HEARING PANEL, AND SOUTHWEST GEOLOGIC HAZARD ABATEMENT DISTRICT (GHAD) II - These agencies are separate legal bodies which oversee certain aspects of City business. Their membership is comprised of all the City Council Members, except for the Housing Authority which has two extra members appointed by the City Council.
