Report a Crime Online

Welcome to the Pittsburg Police Department Citizens Online Police Reporting System. Using this online citizen police report system allows you to submit a report immediately. Please read the checklist below to see if online report is right for you.

  1. The crime is not an emergency. Call 9-1-1 or 925-646-2441 if this is an emergency or the crime is in progress.
  2. There are no known suspects and there is no obvious evidence (such as video or witnesses.) Crimes with possible suspect information must be reported to an officer. Call 925-646-2441 for more information.
  3. Theft of vehicles, trailers and boats must be made in person and cannot be made using the online reporting system.
  4. The crime occurred within the city limits of Pittsburg, California.
  5. The crime did not occur on a state freeway. If the crime occurred on a state freeway, contact the California Highway Patrol: http://www.chp.ca.gov/programs/cirs.html 
  6. If you are reporting a lost or stolen license plate or your missing property has a complete serial number and you know it, please call Dispatch at 925-646-2441.
  7. You have a valid email address.
  8. The crime is one of the following:
  • Custody Order Violation
  • Defrauding an Innkeeper
  • Harassing Phone Calls
  • Identity Theft
  • Lost, Stolen, or Vandalized Property
  • Theft of Property from an unlocked vehicle
  • Theft of Property from a locked vehicle (forced entry) - No Fingerprinting requested
  • Vehicle Tampering
  • Supplemental Reports

Upon completion of the online report process you will:

  • Receive an email with a temporary report number issued for tracking purposes only.  Your report will then be in review status.
  • Once your report is reviewed and approved by a Patrol Supervisor, you will receive an additional email with your official report number and a copy of the police report attached.

Please Note:

  • All cases filed using the Citizen Online Police Reporting system will be reviewed.
  • Upon review, if further investigation of your case is needed, you will be contacted by a representative of the police department.
  • Filing a false police report is a crime.
