On November 8, 2016, the voters of the City of Pittsburg approved Measure J, allowing for implementation of a Marijuana Business Tax on all commercial marijuana businesses that may operate within the City, with the maximum marijuana business tax rate is 10% on all marijuana related transactions.

The City of Pittsburg allows for a limited number commercial cannabis businesses.
