Utilities and Facilities staff are responsible for maintenance of City streets, streetlights, traffic signals, sewers, storm drains, buildings, fleet equipment and the water distribution system, including water meter reading and water service connections. Utilities and Facilities maintenance staff, their supervisors and equipment, are located at:

Mechanical Maintenance
This Division repairs and maintains the vehicles and equipment used by City employees.

Streets
This Division maintains City streets. The Streets Division is also responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing street signs and markings in the City.

Streetlights
This Division oversees repair and maintenance of 4,301 streetlights around the City. In addition, it maintains, installs and replaces traffic signals in the City.

Water Distribution
This Division maintains the underground water distribution lines, backflow prevention devices, and the other equipment and facilities for distributing potable water. Department performs annual hydrant flushing to ensure proper function.

Sewer and Storm Drain Maintenance
This Division provides preventive maintenance for the City’s storm water and sanitary sewer collection systems. The City's curbs and gutters are part of the storm drain system and the street sweeping program is an important function to meet compliance with the City's Clean Water / N.P.D.E.S Program.
