The Payment Center (Water Utility Billing) is where you start water and sewer services for your property. Please note: New services will not be set up after 3:45 pm.

Monthly Water & Sewer Bills
Water Utility Billing is also responsible for preparing and mailing the monthly bill for your water and sewer services and posting payments to your water account. Bills are generated approximately every 30 days. Payment is due upon receipt of your bill. A 10% penalty will be added if your bill is not paid by the due date. If payment is not received and bill is 60 days past due, your water service may be discontinued.
Water Shut Off for Non-Payment
If your water has been shut off for nonpayment, you must clear your complete past due balance in order to re-establish service. There will be a $181.00 reconnection charged added to your account. If your request comes in after 2:30 p.m., there is an after-hour charge of $95.00.
There is a $25.00 charge for any check returned by the bank.
Locating and Reading Your Water Meter
Most of the water meters within the City are located on the sidewalk in front of your property. If you are unable to locate it, please contact the Corporation Yard at (925) 252-4936 and they will assist you in locating your meter. Water Usage Rates
The water service charge consists of a fixed use charge based upon the size of the meter and a consumption fee per unit of water. One unit is equal to 748 gallons. (Refer to Water and Sewer Rates [PDF] effective 3/6/18.)
Discounted Water Usage Rates
The City of Pittsburg has a monthly discounted water usage rate for the first four (4) units of water consumed for low income seniors at least 62 years of age and all disabled citizens as established by the Social Security Administration Supplemental Income Program for the aged, blind and disabled with an annual household income not exceeding $11,640 (not including Social Security Income). Water Account must be in applicant’s name. Sewer Collection
The City of Pittsburg maintains the collection system that transports the sewage to the treatment plant at Delta Diablo Sanitation District. The monthly sewer charge for a single family is a flat fee. The non-single family fee is based on the type of facility.
