To transport wide loads or oversize loads on City streets, a wide or oversized load permit is required. To apply for a transportation permit, you must create a user account (instructions can be found in quick links below) and submit a Transportation Permit Application through the Online Permit Portal. All applications must be submitted 2 business days prior to transport. Certain restrictions apply to each of the following per the California Vehicle Code.

• Annual: Issued for one year with unlimited trips- $97.00
  • Must maintain the same truck route
• Two Day: Issued for one trip - $18.00 (Subject to change)
• Daily Permits/Annual Permits are received and issued within 2 business days.

Additional Requirements

• Caltrans permit required unless origin and destination are within City limits
• Insurance Requirements:
  • $500,000 Liability (All liability on permittee $250,000 P.L.P.D.)
  • $600,000 Combined (Subject to change)
• No pilot car is required under 75 feet long and under 11 feet wide 
• Permittee is responsible for verifying actual clearances.
