The Pittsburg Police Department's Chaplaincy Program creates a partnership with various faith-based leaders in the community to assist the police and other entities by providing non-denominational and spiritual support to the citizens of our community. Police and Clergy work together during times of crisis and other incidents, providing a comprehensive response to those in need.

Our program is comprised of trained faith-based leaders who perform tasks of a more emotional, social or spiritual nature working in support of our officers while they perform their law enforcement duties. The role of the Chaplain is to be the ‘balancer.’ Police Chaplains provide support for Police Officers, their families and community members in their times of need. Chaplains are there to offer assistance, advice, comfort, and counseling to those who desire such support.

Our Chaplains are fully certified members of the International Conference of Police Chaplains.
