 Website Banner Investigations 

The Investigation Division is tasked with thoroughly investigating serious crimes. Detectives evaluate and prepare criminal cases for appropriate clearance and submission to a prosecutor. The division is comprised of one lieutenant, one sergeant, twelve detectives, a CSI investigator, a records clerk, a community service specialist and a cold case homicide investigator.

There are specially trained detectives assigned to homicide, sexual assault, domestic violence, robbery, missing persons and other general crimes. There is a Gang/Vice Team specially trained in human trafficking, gangs, and narcotics offenses. Additionally, one detective is assigned to F.B.I. Safe Streets Task Force.

Megan's Law 

In 1996, the California State Legislature signed California's version of Megan's Law into effect.  This law allows the public to access information on registered sex offenders who are required to register with local law enforcement.
