Applications are currently being accepted for vacancies on the Youth Advisory Commission and the Public Financing Authority of the Pittsburg Enhanced Infrastructure Financing District.

Commissions and Committees

If you have an interest in serving your community, applying to be a commissioner is a great place to start.  The City of Pittsburg has commissions that assist in recommending policy and help in the decision-making process that govern Pittsburg.

All commissioners must reside in the City of Pittsburg and serve as volunteers without compensation.

Selection Process for all Commissions

Commissioners are appointed by a majority vote of the City Council and serve staggered terms.  Commission recruitment occurs biennially in December or on a as needed basis through the City Clerk’s office.

Attendance, Unscheduled Vacancy and Resignation

If an unscheduled vacancy occurs on a commission, the City Council either appoints from the pool of applicants on file (the eligibility list) or opens up the position to new applications.
