AMBROSE-PITTSBURG LIONS CLUB OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS FROM PITTSBURG & BAY POINT

BAY POINT -- The Ambrose-Pittsburg Lions Club will recognize the achievements of high school seniors by presenting scholarships to students living in Pittsburg and Bay Point who have demonstrated exemplary participation in service projects, vocational service and extracurricular activity. The application period is now open and students may apply for the awards through April 15, 2013. The awards will range from $1,000 to $2,000. The awards will be presented by the Lions Club in May 2013 at awards ceremonies at Pittsburg High School and at Mt. Diablo High School.

In consideration for this award, the Ambrose-Pittsburg Lions Club places importance on involvement in community service, as well as vocational activities related to future occupational plans, such as artistic achievement, mechanical or scientific accomplishments and teaching assistance, as well as leadership roles and extracurricular activity.

Students may request a scholarship application from their career counselor or scholarship coordinator at both high schools, by calling 925-709-0557 or by sending an e-mail to AmbroseLions@sbcglobal.net. Those who call or send an e-mail should provide their name and mailing address.
