Public Hearing Notice: 10/24 Planning Commission Meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the PLANNING COMMISSION of the City of Pittsburg will conduct a public hearing at the Marina Community Center located at 340 Marina Boulevard, Pittsburg, CA 94565 on October 24, 2023, at 7:00 PM concerning the following item(s):

Sustainability Plan - City of Pittsburg

Project Address: City Wide

Project Description: This is a City-wide, City-initiated project to develop a Sustainability Plan. This is a long-range document that guides the City towards sustainability and GHG emission reduction goals.

Copies of the Final Draft Sustainability Plan are available for review at the following locations:

1) City of Pittsburg, Planning Division, 65 Civic Avenue, Pittsburg CA. 94565; and

2) Pittsburg Library, 80 Power Drive, Pittsburg, CA 94565.

What can I do if I have comments on the project? Comments or objections to the plan can be made by writing or through e-mailed testimony prior to the meeting or provided orally during the meeting. Written comments citing the project name may be emailed to the project planner listed below or may be mailed or delivered to Pittsburg Planning Division, 65 Civic Avenue, Pittsburg, CA 94565.

This is a public hearing on a request for approval of a Use Permit and Fence Height Exception to install a 10-foot-tall, electrically-charged security fence four to eight inches behind an existing, eight-foot-tall, slatted chain link fence, in order to provide additional security and deter theft and vandalism. The proposed electric fence would be installed along the east and south sides of the building located at 498 East 10th Street in the CS-D (Service Commercial – Downtown Overlay) District. Assessor Parcel No. 085-184-014.

Environmental Determination:
The proposed project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Class 3, ‘New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures’ of the State CEQA Guidelines, section 15303(e).
