eBART is coming to East County!
Join Bart, Ben Johnson and the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce
Saturday, July 17th from 10 am to 11:30 am
Pittsburg Senior Center, 300 Presidio Lane, Pittsburg
East County residents will be riding eBART before they know it. eBART is the 10-mile BART extension eastward from the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station to a station near Hillcrest Avenue. Construction begins this fall and will coincide with the widening of State Highway 4. eBART and Highway 4 will finish together in 2015, offering faster travel time on both the highway and the train. The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) will provide a project overview and wants to hear from you about eBART’s fares, station access and hours of operation. Please join BART at one of three public meetings as we seek your input on these eBART issues. Meetings are open to the public and listed on this flyer. Translation services and child care are available if requested 3 days (72 hours) before the meeting by calling Walter Gonzales at BART at 510.464.6428. Refreshments will be served.

Pittsburg High School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
We are proud to announce the opening of the new Pittsburg High School for the 2010-11
school year. Beginning this August approximately 2,500 students from our city will begin the school year in a state of the art facility that has been designed to maximum student learning and safety. Our new high school will include a state of the auto technology
program, a construction technology program and an information technology program.
An additional gym with new locker rooms have been added. In addition, we are beginning a multi-million dollar upgrade to our performing arts program which will, as the crown jewel, include a major renovation of the Creative Arts Building (CAB).
The campus will be closed during lunch time. In order to serve all of the students, 18 lunch stations will be open and students will eat lunch in the cafeteria and in a large outdoor quad. Students will enjoy a greater variety of foods as the new kitchen will have equipment for bar-b-que and stir fry. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be on August 21st at 10:00 A.M. Federal Glover will be speaking and the public is invited.
