Diamonds hire new Assistant GM!

Former San Rafael Pacifics Brass Joins Diamonds Staff

PITTSBURG, CA - The Pittsburg Diamonds professional minor league baseball team announced today that Eric Manlove has been named their Assistant General Manager.

Manlove joins the Diamonds after spending one year with the San Rafael Pacifics as their Stadium Operations Manager. The Pacifics have long been the pillar of the Pacific Association, on and off the field, including the defending champions of the 2015 season.

“This hiring signifies Pittsburg’s commitment to community baseball” said Pacific Association Commisioner, David Alioto. “We expect Eric to be an integral part of the operations in Pittsburg and help the Diamonds achieve new heights in 2016.”

Manlove originally from North Dakota, has a broadcasting degree from Minot State University. He will assume front office responsibilities to expand sponsorship sales and partnerships within local businesses, extend community outreach and creating an enhanced game day experience for fans to enjoy when coming to Diamonds games at City Park Field #1.

“This is an amazing opportunity for me and I’m really looking forward to joining the Diamonds and to help bring fun, low-cost family entertainment to the Pittsburg community,” said Manlove. “I can’t wait to get out and meet everyone and for the season to get going again. I’m very excited to become involved with the fantastic baseball fans we have here in Pittsburg.”

The Diamonds are set for their third season of Pacific Association competition. In 2015, they improved immensely over their 2014 record of 22-56, finishing 38-39 overall and went 20-19 in the second half - good enough for a second place finish.
