Accomplished teacher, composer and jazz bassist Marcus Shelby brings dynamic vocalist Faye Carol and a jazz orchestra to the California Theatre at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 16. Tickets are still available for this event. Marcus Shelby is a renowned music educator and arranger based in San Francisco. Faye Carol is a former Pittsburg resident who has built a stellar career as a jazz performer and educator. Saturday's show is the latest in the Pittsburg Pops series of live concerts sponsored by the Pittsburg Arts and Community Foundation. The Foundation is a local non-profit organization dedicated to promoting literacy, performing arts, visual arts and cultural events.
