Meet native son and local photographer Joseph P. Lombardo on Saturday, June 29 at the Railroad Book Depot. Mr. Lombardo is the principal photographer of "The Curtain Rises: Return of the California Theatre," a booklet of photos documenting the recent renovation of the historic theater.

The event will begin at 1 p.m. at the Railroad Book Depot at 650 Railroad Avenue in Pittsburg.  

Mr. Lombardo will share photos not included in the booklet that tell the story of the renovation of the theater, which was constructed in 1920 and closed in 1954. There will also be representatives of the Pittsburg Historical Society and the Pittsburg Arts and Community Foundation on hand. The event will be followed by a tour of the renovated theater.
