Apply Now for City Commissions

Several Volunteer Positions Available

The City of Pittsburg has openings on several commissions, and is actively seeking local residents to apply for the volunteer positions.
Applications are available at the Pittsburg City Clerk’s Office at 65 Civic or on-line at www.ci.pittsburg.ca.us. Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office by May 3, 2013.
The Pittsburg Planning Commission meets on the second and fourth Tuesday evening of each month at 7 p.m. The term of service on the seven-member commission is four years. Four commission terms are expiring on June 30, 2013.
The Community Advisory Commission meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The terms of five current commission members expire on June 30, 2013.
In addition, the City is seeking citizens interested in volunteering for the Contra Costa County Library Commission. Each of the County’s 19 jurisdictions may appoint one citizen to serve on the committee. There are two seats vacant on this commission: commissioner and alternate. Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday evening of each month at 7 p.m.
Interviews of applicants will be conducted by the City Council on May 20, 2013. Appointments will be made by the City Council on June 17, 2013.
